Jakarta (ANTARA) – Lagu “Don't Stop Believin'” terdapat dalam album ketujuh grup musik rock Journey asal California, Amerika Serikat, bertajuk “Escape” (ditulis “E5C4P3” pada sampul albumnya) yang dirilis tahun 1981.

Video musik untuk lagu “Don't Stop Believin'” yang direkam saat konser langsung Journey di Houston, Texas, AS tahun 1981 selama tur promosi album “Escape” telah memperoleh lebih dari 317 juta kali pemutaran di YouTube sejak diunggah pada 20 Oktober 2010.

Dalam video musik lagu “Don't Stop Believin'” di YouTube itu, formasi Journey antara lain Steve Perry pada vokal, Jonathan Cain pada kibor, Neal Schon pada gitar, Steve Smith pada drum, dan Ross Valory pada bas.

Tiga personel yang disebut pertama yaitu Steve Perry, Jonathan Cain dan Neal Schon bersama-sama dalam menulis lagu “Don't Stop Believin'”.

Lagu “Don't Stop Believin'” bercerita tentang dua orang yang terlibat perjalanan romansa tapi menolak kehilangan impian masa muda mereka karena mereka ingin mengejarnya.

Lirik lagu tersebut juga menggambarkan dinamika kehidupan individu yang bekerja keras untuk mencapai pemenuhan diri, di mana sebagian bisa berhasil dan sebagian lainnya tidak.

Lagu “Don't Stop Believin'” karya Journey dinobatkan oleh Library of Congress sebagai salah satu lagu berpengaruh secara sejarah dan kebudayaan di AS, sehingga masuk dalam National Recording Registry tahun 2022.​​​​​​​
